Each tirricikla Active Sachet is expected to last around 2-4 weeks in the average household's organic waste bin. The frequency of replacement will depend on the quantity of organic waste generated in the household and its level of moisture. The tirricikla Active Sachet does not need to be changed with every organic bag change. It only needs to be changed once it has expanded to the lid of the green tray.

 

The tirricikla Active Sachets contain an absorbent polymer that will lock in any moisture, preventing it from making a mess at the bottom of your organic waste bin. By locking away the moisture, microbial growth is minimized, so smells are minimized, which also means that insects will be less attracted to your waste bin. 

 

The tirricikla Green Tray (sold in the starter pack) is made out of recycled plastic and is designed to serve two functions. Firstly, it directs any liquids that seep out of your decomposing organic waste directly into the Active Sachet for absorption, and secondly, it is designed to hold the tirricikla Active Sachet in place while it expands as moisture is absorbed. 

 

The tirricikla Green Tray (sold in the starter pack) is reusable and should last at least 12 months. It is always to be wiped clean, never cleaned with water or in a dishwasher. The tirricikla tray can be disposed in the recycled bin (grey bin) as it is made out of recycled plastic.
